Dr. Shehan Kariyakaranage

Shehan graduated from RMIT University in 2018. He developed an early interest in osteopathy after receiving treatment for various sports-related injuries himself. He spent seven years working in Queensland in private practice and aged care but has returned home to Melbourne this year to continue his osteopathic practice.
Shehan takes a holistic, structural approach to treating acute and chronic injuries. He is certified in Dry Needling and Level 1 Strength and Conditioning through ASCA. He leverages his background as a strength and conditioning coach to design personalised exercise programs to aid in injury rehabilitation, prevention, and enhancing athletic performance.
Shehan focuses on identifying the root cause of injury. He enjoys treating back, neck, and shoulder pain, headaches and a wide range of sports-related injuries.
Outside of work, Shehan is an avid sports enthusiast, following AFL, tennis, and MMA. He also enjoys staying active through gym training and running.
